Situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Nilkanth or Neelkanth peak stands at a towering altitude of 6,596 meters over the Alaknanda valley. It is a major peak of the Garhwal division of the Himalayas. It is a pyramidical-shaped peak that is popularly known as the 'Garhwal Queen'.
