At an altitude of 2900 m, Chopta is situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, which is a lush green valley. Popularly referred to as the 'mini Switzerland' of Uttarakhand. It is a base for trekking to Tungnath, the third temple of PanchKedar which lies 3.5 kilometers away.
