Badrinath is a town located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It got its name due to the Badrinath temple which is one of the tourist centers of pilgrimage coming under Char Dham. Badrinath is at 3133m above sea level, remains covered in snow for 6 months. During this period, the deity of Lord Badrinath is shifted to Joshimath.
